The Garrett County Sheriff's office is working with residents to clean up areas that may have dangerous syringes discarded by drug users. At Thursday's meeting of the Mountain Lake Park Mayor and Town Council meeting, Captain Chris Helbig asked that residents not attempt to clean up needles on their own. They should contact the Sheriff's office at 301 334-1911, so they can administer safe disposal methods.
Common areas needles may be found are along roads, in parks, or less traveled routes. By contacting authorities, you also assist Officers in identifying where drug use may be occurring.
