Oakland, MD - August 6, 2026 - ThriveAbility.Co is a community-focused wellness initiative dedicated to protecting youth health and advocating for proactive substance awareness. With e-cigarette use rising among school-aged children, ThriveAbility.Co is deploying adolescent vaping educational outreach and community partnerships throughout the upcoming academic year.
ThriveAbility.Co representatives will provide educational materials, answer parent and student questions, and host discussions regarding vaping at several upcoming events;
Backed by Community Fair: Monday, August 17th from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the Agricultural Heritage Hall in McHenry.
Northern Middle Back to School Night: August 25, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M.
Northern High Back to School Night: August 25, 2026 from 5:30 - 7:30 P.M.
Southern High School New Student Orientation: August 26, 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. Informational sessions
Southern High School Back to School Night: August 27, 2026 from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M.
Beyond the initial back-to-school kickoff, ThriveAbility.Co plans to conduct a series of community meetings, workshops, and youth leadership forums throughout the year. These initiatives aim to bridge the gap between parents, educators, and healthcare advocates to reduce adolescent nicotine and marijuana exposure.
ThriveAbility.Co is actively seeking community members, parents, and youth leaders to volunteer for outreach efforts and event coordination. Anyone interested can message organizers through the Facebook page or by emailing engagemountainmaryland@gmail.com.
Additionally, the organization is requesting financial contributions to fund educational print resources, event programming, and community events.
